Will be interesting to see if Kia catch up with the 2019 maps update. Would a speeding fine be invalid if the appropriate statutory instrument had not been enacted? I wonder how easy it is to check if the appropriate instruments have been enacted?

I doubt that the appropriate statutory instruments have not been enacted as HereWeGo maps on my phone report the correct speed limits for the roads that the Kia maps don't. The local Chief Constable, some years ago, was interviewed on radio where he stated he was "proud" that he had "introduced so many 50 mph speed limits and average speed camera installations" in the County.ī) Regrettably the Stonic's forward facing camera does not read roadside signs - and there is no upgrade available. I would find it very surprising if the Highways Authority or Council refused a Police request for a permanent speed limit reduction. The Police have been very vocal about reducing the speed limits - yes the legal bits and implementation are done by the Highways Authority or Council, but the initiation of a reduced speed limit seems, mainly, to be triggered by police request.
